La Cat\u00e8ne de containers<\/b><\/h3>\n

The annual <\/span>un \u00e9t\u00e9 au Havre<\/span><\/i><\/a> (a summer in Le Havre) festival transforms the entire city into an original art gallery. Its permanent collection includes La Cat\u00e8ne de containers by Vincent Gavinet.<\/span>
\n<\/span>This structure \u2013 an homage to shipping containers and, by extension, the city\u2019s seaborne trade \u2013 was inspired by the hanging chain models used by Spanish architect Antoni Gaud\u00ed.<\/span><\/p>\n

UP#3<\/b><\/h3>\n

Erected in 2017, UP#3 by Sabina Lang and Daniel Baumann also forms part of the festival\u2019s permanent collection. This white concrete geometric structure on Le Havre beach is a nod to the city centre, which was redesigned by architect and urban planner Auguste Perret.<\/span>
